7th & 8th Girls Basketball Sweep Southern Wells

The Norwell Knights 7th grade girls basketball team turned in a dominant performance on Monday night, rolling past the Southern Wells Raiders 35–6. Norwell set the tone early with an 11–0 first quarter, using tough defense to keep the Raiders off the board. The Knights continued their strong play into halftime, adding a 4–0 second quarter to take full control of the game. Southern Wells managed to break through with a few baskets in the second half, but Norwell responded with consistent scoring — 9–4 in the third and 11–2 in the fourth—to close out the convincing win. Elissa Rosswurm and Lily Gerdom led the Knights with 12 points each. Additional scoring came from Val Lenwell (4), Ella Ford (3), Emmalee Scott (2), and Ruthie Bushee (2). For Southern Wells, Rowan Quickery scored 4 points and Raelin Bower added 2. The Norwell Knights 8th grade girls basketball team continued their strong start to the season with a commanding 43–7 victory over the Southern Wells Raiders. Norwell came out firing, taking a 13–2 lead after the first quarter before putting together a dominant 20–0 second quarter to build a 33–2 halftime advantage. The Knights controlled the pace the rest of the way, winning the third quarter 4–3 and the fourth 4–2 to seal the convincing win. Balanced scoring fueled Norwell's success. Charlotte Smith, Rylie Van’t Hof, Piper Krumma, and Camryn McCartney each delivered 8 points, while Emma Moon added 7. Jahnna Smith and Mercy Meyer rounded out the scoring with 2 points apiece. Southern Wells was led by Aubree Neuenschwander, who scored all 7 of the Raiders’ points. The Knights will be back in action on Monday, December 1st, when they travel to Leo for a 5:30 p.m. matchup.
